Today I want to share with you a personal thought about the most difficult and awesome thing, at the same time, about travel.
When you travel, if you don’t stay close and you open yourselves to newcomers you’ll start to talk with a lot of different people, in a lot of different occasions. The thing is that sometimes, you meet a person for just some days or even some hours and you know you’ll never forget that person. And after the farewell, you can’t believe that you’ve known that person just for a few hours, it seems you know him/her for years and years. You had a very deep connection because he or she was extremely funny or a profound person, or maybe a good fella to talk with, or you have fallen in love, or he/she had the most beautiful and sincere smile in the world etc. etc.

For people who don’t believe me or don’t believe that traveling will make you find, almost for sure, very deep connections with a lot of people, I would like to say some facts. It happens that someone you just met reveal you something that nobody else, even the mother or the best friend knows. And you know why? Because people, in general, open themselves much more with a person who knows they will never see again. Us, as humans, we care (too much, generally) about the judgment of others. We have secrets, ideas or thoughts that we would like to share to liberate ourselves but we can’t because we are afraid of someone else’s judge.
Travelers are the perfect people with whom you can liberate words from the thoughts closed within the prison of your mind.
People are more genuine to travelers. Not to mention between travelers. Also, if you’re talking with someone who will disappear forever in some hours you open the barrier between your brain and your mouth because you don’t care too much about what you’re saying. You just say what you think. And that’s awesome, most of the time.
Plus, most of the people are extremely happy to share their countries, their ideas, even the craziest one, to unknown people from another country. We want always to share the best, and even the worst, of our countries or ourselves, if we are sincerely and not too shy. Then, usually, when you travel, people are extremely curious about you, where you are from and your story.
All these, are the reasons why it’s simple to make deep connections with people meanwhile traveling. The upside-down is that is always hard saying goodbye to them. Especially the first times you start to travel by yourself. In the beginning, I didn’t believe to be so lucky to have met those wonderful people. My thought at that time was “I mean, it’s so hard to find someone who is truly worth meeting, right?”. I’m happy to say that I was wrong, so much. After just a bit of traveling, you start to realize how the world is extremely full of wonderful people; and all of them are just waiting to meet you, even for a few time. Knowing this, help me a lot in the farewells: yes, I met these guys who I loved, but I know and I’m sure, there are a lot more, out there.
We just need to go, out there 😀
And remember, sometimes is not a farewell, just a bye 🙂
